Kaeleth

Kaeleth is part of a split god, comprising one half of Meridian. When Pana split Meridian's head in two, one half was buried under Dinnara, the southernmost of [Mina's Horns]. In time, the mountain split and Kaeleth emerged, bringing fresh waters from deep in the earth along with him. The mountain became known as Kaeleth Marg, or Kaeleth's Peak.

Domain

Kaeleth is a water god, associated with rivers and fresh waters. Additionally, Kaeleth is seen as a protector of gardens and orchards.

Symbol

Followers of Kaeleth identify themselves by carrying cloudy blue glass orbs which have the ability to generate pure, cool water.

Appearance

Kaeleth appears as a tall, pale man in a grey robe. The hood of the robe falls in such a way as to cover the right half of Kaeleth's face.

Worship

The most common forms of Kaeleth worship are the travelling order of priests who wander the lands in high summer. These itinerates are seen as cloudbusters of a sort, often being hired by local farming communities to bring rains to crops. Although the priests are not supposed to accept payment for this service, it is common for communities benefiting from their visits to support them with gifts of food, travelling gear and clothing, and often small amounts of money.

Additionally, many agricultural communities have small altars to Kaeleth stationed next to their wells. These altars are usually designed just like bird baths, and a portion of water from the well is poured into the altar daily as a sacrifice to keep the well flowing.
