Erid
Erid is the god of roads and travels. Some say that it was Erid that opened the way for the other gods to reach Palboria.
Domain
Technically, Erid is the god of crossings, of changing locations, but he is often associated with travelling, travelers, and modes of travel.
Symbol
Erid's symbol is almost universally known - an M with a circle in the center, sometimes drawn with just the top half of the circle. While it us universally agreed that the symbol is meant to represent mountains and the sun in the distance, whether the sun is rising or setting has been a matter of debate.
Appearance
There are no artistic representations of Erid, nor are there written descriptions of Erid's avatar.
Worship
There are few churches of Erid since there's little in the way of direct worship opportunities for such a god. A few of the larger cities have a small ministry near the gates that sell emblems of Erid and take care of travelers who may have suffered misfortune on the road.
Trading caravans often put emblems of Erid on their wagons or on the barding of their horses. Taverns and roadside inns sometimes hang placquards with Erid's symbol as a way of inviting travelers inside.
It is also not uncommon for villages that rely on travel for trade, fishing, or hunting, and for larger cities that regularly host travelers from other locations to have a Erid Post near their gates. This is, simply, a wooden stake in the ground, 8 to 10 inches square and four or five feet tall, engraved with the symbol of Erid. It is here that travelers will pause to touch the post before they set out and ask Erid for protection and an easy journey.
